PRIVACY POLICY
Datavant / Healthjump
Last Updated: September 9, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Datavant and its Healthjump business unit ("Datavant," "Healthjump," "we," "us," or "our") collect, use, and disclose information in connection with our services, including our Data Extraction Notification SMS text messaging program (the "Program"), through which we send automated text messages to notify practices and health systems when we are starting and completing the initial backload of their data extraction.
This Policy applies to information we collect through the Program and, more broadly, to the personal information we collect and process in the course of providing our data extraction and related services. By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to the terms of this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information in connection with the Program and our related services:
Contact Information: Name and mobile phone number, which you or your organization provide to us so that we can send Program notifications.
Extraction Reference Information: Extraction reference numbers, case IDs, and related identifiers associated with your practice's or health system's data extraction project, which we use to match incoming and outgoing messages to the correct extraction job.
Messaging Consent Data: Records of your opt-in consent to receive text messages from us, the date and method of consent, and your communication preferences (including opt-out requests).
We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as protected health information) through the Program itself. The Program is limited to operational notifications about the status of a data extraction project; it is not used to transmit protected health information.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
• Send automated SMS notifications confirming the start and completion of the initial backload of your practice's or health system's data extraction.
• Respond to inbound messages, including HELP and STOP requests, and manage opt-in and opt-out preferences.
• Match messages to the correct extraction project using extraction reference or case ID information.
• Maintain records of consent and communication preferences as required by law and by our messaging carrier and platform partners (including Twilio).
• Operate, maintain, and improve our services, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
4. SMS Text Messaging Program Terms
Consent: By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive automated text messages from Datavant/Healthjump related to the status of your data extraction project. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or receiving any services.
Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on the status of your extraction project (typically one message when extraction begins and one message when it is completed).
Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of the Program at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a one-time confirmation message that you have been unsubscribed. After opting out, you will no longer receive text messages from us unless you re-enroll.
Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at support@healthjump.com.
Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include, but are not limited to, the major U.S. wireless carriers.
5. How We Share Information
We may share the categories of information described in Section 2 (excluding Messaging Consent Data, as described below) with:
Service Providers: Vendors and subcontractors who perform services on our behalf, such as SMS delivery platforms, hosting providers, and customer support tools, solely to help us operate the Program and our broader services.
Legal and Safety: Parties as required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Datavant, Healthjump, our customers, or others.
Business Transfers: A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
With Your Direction: Any other party when we have your explicit direction or consent to do so.
We do not sell personal information collected through the Program, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
No Sharing of Messaging Consent Data
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, including affiliates, for any purpose, including marketing and promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in information and consent are used solely to facilitate the Program described in this Policy and are never sold, rented, licensed, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing, promotional, or other unrelated purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain Contact Information, Extraction Reference Information, and Messaging Consent Data for as long as necessary to operate the Program, respond to opt-in/opt-out requests, comply with legal and carrier requirements (including Twilio and CTIA record-keeping obligations), and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we securely delete or anonymize it.
7. Data Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may opt out of the Program at any time by replying STOP, as described in Section 4.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law, by contacting us using the information in Section 10.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know what information we collect and the right to request deletion.
9. Children's Privacy
The Program is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Program.
